Introduction

The concept for this blog is very simple: I finished my undergraduate degree last year and am now working on what's next. In college, I did two translation projects, both from Korean in to English, and would like to continue translating, whether that means literature translation or interpretation. Of course, college did not make me fluent in Korean and I'm still in the United States so I don't get much practice but I want to keep improving. Hopefully, I'll also be able to pick up another language in the future.

This blog will serve as my notebook of practice translations. I hope to apply for a couple of different language and scholarships next year to continue my language study but until then, I need some projects to keep me up to date on Korean. In language learning, nothing is worse than not practicing. I'll be periodically putting up some translations of things that I am working on translating, whether poems, short stories, news articles, or folk tales, and I hope you find it interesting. If you see some discrepancy (I'll try to include the original text or a link to it), let me know by commenting. Like I said, this is a practice blog, not a publisher, so I hope that I can learn from this experience.


I will be posting my translation practice work on Saturdays and will put up links throughout the week to translation and language related things I find on the web and in real life. I also enjoy reading translated novels and poetry so I want to blog about that as well.
